Data from the Shore Stations Program consists of daily, manual measurements of surface temperature and salinity. These data are available in text and excel spreadsheet formats organized by station. Data can be accessed through the selection menu below or directly through the ftp site: ftp://ftp.iod.ucsd.edu/shore/ by navigating through the folders to find the data type and station of interest.

Historically, the Shore Stations Program published a daily surface water temperatures and salinities annual data report titled, Surface Water Temperatures, Salinities and Densities at Shore Stations. However, this report has not been published since 1994. In addition to temperature, salinities and densities, the annual report also includes the monthly and annual means, and graphs of the daily departures from the long-term harmonic.

This publication can be found in the library of most colleges or universities that have an active undergraduate or graduate level Oceanographic / Marine Studies Program. If your institution's library does not currently carry this data report, it is available upon request, free of charge. Send request, together with your institution's name, address and mail code to:
